Krell by Groovizm
Chris Meyer writes on Learning Modular "Recreating this patch is a challenge many modular musicians like to tackle. It is based on the 1959 movie Forbidden Planet, in a segment where they supposedly play the music of the ancient Krell race. In general terms, each note has a random pitch, envelope, and duration."
I tried to do that without referring to existing patches and this is what I came up with.
The basis is having the SLOPE CYCLE on, EOC modulate TIME, and feeding RANDOM back to SLOPE TIME. From there on you can use CLK to trigger CONTOUR and use either SLOPE or RANDOM to modulate MLTPL, OVRTN, and Pitch.
I put RANDOM through the attenuverter for an extra performance-control. Adjust SLOPE and CONTOUR to taste and season generously with reverb...
