Neutron as External Signal Processor (Guitars, Vocals, Other Synths) by SpontaneousLightBulb
1. Plug your external signal source into the Input Jack of the Neutron with a TRS cable.*
2. Open and close the Filter with a sustained MIDI note from your controller.**
Use a TRS Y Cable with your Audio Interface by plugging your external signal source into an input that has a corresponding Insert. You use the Y cable by using the Tip for INPUT and Ring for OUTPUT.
SynthDCO OUT => Ch1 IN => Ins1 OUT => Tip => SynthVCF IN => SynthVCF OUT => Ring => Ins1 IN => DAW
Guitar OUT => Ch1 IN => Ins1 OUT (TRS Y cable) => Tip => SynthVCF IN => SynthVCF OUT => Ring => Ins1 IN
You must open and close the filter with a MIDI note. You can use syncopated beats to open and close the beats, but it will lose the signal that was transmitted to the filter if a fresh signal is not transmitted once the filter is open (I think?). As a proof of concept, it's easier to just use a sustained MIDI note.
